Recently, the Office of the National Science and Technology Academic Works Publication Fund Committee awarded certificates for the 2023 National Science and Technology Academic Works Publication Fund support projects. Researcher Mao Zhihua and colleagues' work titled "Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Methods for Aquatic Environment" was selected for funding. This book focuses on hyperspectral remote sensing, integrating disciplines such as imagery and spectroscopy, enabling unified detection of spatial distribution and spectral characteristics of aquatic environments. It presents a new approach for monitoring aquatic environments.

Established by the State Council in 1997, the National Science and Technology Academic Works Publication Fund is managed by the National Science and Technology Academic Works Publication Fund Committee to support the publication of outstanding and significant academic works in fields such as natural sciences and technology sciences. This includes academic monographs, fundamental theoretical works, and applied technical works.

In addition, the "2023 Best Books List" was recently released. Researcher Mao Zhihua and team's book "Marine Lidar Detection Technology" was included in this list. The book introduces theories and methods of marine lidar remote sensing, systematically discussing detection principles, radiation transmission theory, data processing methods, and simulation techniques for shipborne and airborne marine lidar systems. It also evaluates technical solutions for China's spaceborne marine lidar systems. The book comprises 8 chapters covering introduction, shipborne marine lidar systems, airborne marine lidar systems, marine lidar-induced fluorescence remote sensing technology, optical profiling and subsurface detection methods, shallow water depth detection methods using marine lidar, numerical simulation techniques for marine lidar signals, and design of spaceborne marine lidar systems.

The "Best Books List" is published by the third-party industry research institution, Bai Dao New Publishing Research Institute. The selection mechanism is based on impact data principles, utilizing the Bai Dao Book Impact Data Platform's annual impact index for ranking, while considering variables related to publication time factors. The platform monitored a total of 135,767 books published in 2023 and circulating on the internet, among which 900 books from 201 publishers were selected for the Bai Dao Best Books List of the Year.
