Description

The dataset is derived from the publicly available Global Ocean Data Analysis Project dataset (GLODAPv2.2023). It undergoes processes such as data quality control, data transformation, and data gridding to generate gridded in situ data from 1972 to 2021 for global sea surface temperature (SST), sea surface salinity (SSS), dissolved oxygen (DO), partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2), pH, dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), and total alkalinity (TA) at a resolution of 1°×1°. Here, sea surface refers to depths shallower than 5 meters.

The pCO2 is derived from the seawater fugacity of carbon dioxide (fCO2), calculated using the empirical formula from Takahashi, specifically: pCO2 = fCO2×(1.00436-4.669×10-5×SST).
