The offshore water quality parameter remote sensing dataset includes three parameters: inorganic nitrogen (DIN), active phosphate (PO4) and water quality classification in the sea areas of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. The spatial range of this product is: 111°E~116°E, 19°N~24°N. This product is based on the BP neural network and uses MODIS satellite and CDOM data to jointly invert nutrients and obtain the spatial distribution of inorganic nitrogen and active phosphate. In order to reduce the impact of cloud and rain weather on a single day, a monthly average calculation was performed on the MODIS data, and the spatial distribution of nutrients above the monthly average scale from July 2002 to December 2020 was obtained. On this basis, according to the Guangdong Provincial Marine Environmental Quality Bulletin (http://gdee.gd.gov.cn/), excessive nitrogen and phosphorus content in the study area are the main water quality pollution factors. Therefore, referring to the GB 3097-1997 seawater quality standard, using the spatiotemporal characteristics of nitrate and active phosphate to describe water quality conditions, a MODIS-based water quality product for Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao was obtained. In addition, this dataset also provides featured water quality products based on Sentinel-3.
