Dear friends/colleagues:
After nearly thirty years of development, ocean color remote sensing in China has made great progress, and more and more young scholars are investing in it. However, facing the long-term goal of "carbon neutrality" in 2060, how to further enhance the international competitiveness of China's ocean color remote sensing and continue to maintain its vitality is a challenge we face. The top priority is to strengthen the training of the younger generation, consolidate the theoretical foundation of ocean color remote sensing, and improve scientific research capabilities. In view of this, the first China Ocean Color Theory and Remote Sensing Summer School was organized in the summer of 2017, which received widespread attention.
After discussion, the State Key Laboratory of Offshore Marine Environmental Science (Xiamen University), the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Marine Environmental Dynamics (Second Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources), and the State Key Laboratory of Lakes and Environment (Nanjing Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences) Research Institute), Qingdao Marine Science and Technology Pilot National Laboratory, National Satellite Ocean Application Center and other five units jointly organized the second China Water Color Theory and Remote Sensing Summer School. The time is tentatively scheduled from July 11 to 24, 2021, and the location is to be determined. The specific arrangements (draft) are as follows: (1) The teaching teachers include (preliminary): Pan Delu, Liu Jianqiang, Tang Junwu, Hu Chuanmin, Wang Menghua, Chai Fei, He Xianqiang, Bai Yan, Song Qingjun, Li Xiaofeng, Ma Hui, Feng Lian, Lecheng Feng, Ma Ronghua, Shang Shaoling, Xing Qianguo, Wang Yuxiang, Guan Lei, Liu Dong, Liu Xin, Du Duping, Li Zhongping; (2) Participants: Have a certain foundation in ocean color (active and passive) remote sensing, and are pursuing a master's/doctoral degree Young people with a degree or working experience of no more than 3 years; after registration, a maximum of 30 students will be selected based on various circumstances; (3) Summer school time: July 11-July 24, 2021; (4) Location: To be determined; (5) Conference fees: Tuition and catering fees are exempted. The transportation and accommodation expenses are borne by the students themselves, but there are a small number of scholarships for students who need financial aid.
