On April 8, the "Ocean Ocean Environmental Dynamics" jointly developed by the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environmental Dynamics of the Second Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources (referred to as "SOED National Laboratory") and the Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Resources and Environmental Information Systems of Zhejiang University The remote sensing online analysis platform SatCO2 (referred to as "SatCO2 Platform") was unveiled at the 4th International Conference on Ocean Color Science (referred to as "IOCS").

From April 8th to 12th, the 4th International Ocean Color Science (IOCS) Conference was held in Busan, South Korea. The meeting was organized by the International Ocean Color Coordination Group (IOCCG) in cooperation with the Korea Institute of Marine Science and Technology (KIOST) and other units. As the most important platform for ocean color science, the theme of this year's IOCS is "Promoting international cooperation in multi-scale ocean color science and applications". The overall goal is to establish a strong scientific community for ocean color science and applications, and to promote ocean color and collaboration of international space agencies that are interested in ocean color science.

During the IOCS meeting, a total of 3 training classes were arranged, each training class was limited to 20 people. As one of the three major training courses held at this IOCS conference, the SatCO2 training course attracted core scientists from the Southern Ocean Carbon Cycle and Climate Change Observing System (SOCCO), Incheon National University in South Korea, Pusan National University in South Korea, Germany and China, etc. Nearly 20 students from across the country participated. Training courses held at the same time include the Sentinel Data Application Training Course organized by ESA and the SeaDAS Usage Training Course organized by NASA.

During the training class, researcher BAI Yan introduced the main research directions and results of the National Institute of Oceanography and the Institute of Geographic Information Science of Zhejiang University. The main development teams of the SatCO2 platform focus on the independently developed remote sensing datasets and the special functions of the SatCO2 platform, as well as the convenience and speed in solving ocean long-term series data acquisition and analysis.

Researcher HE Xianqiang, the chief scientist of SatCO2, demonstrated typical application cases through on-site operation of the software platform, such as red tide identification, sea-air interface carbon flux and budget estimation, long-term series changes, etc., demonstrating the application of SatCO2 in research on different topics.

The scholars who participated in the training conducted operational exercises for more than an hour using their own laptops. Drs. Ye Weiwen and Chen Yijun of Zhejiang University and several teaching assistants from the Second Institute of Oceanography answered questions immediately on site. Finally, the students gave feedback on the use of the SatCO2 platform, saying that the software was of great help to their research work in acquiring and applying remote sensing data, and they would recommend it to colleagues and students. At the same time, students also provided many suggestions for the improvements of the platform.

By holding this training course, the SatCO2 platform has attracted the attention of more foreign experts and scholars, promoted the internationalization process of SatCO2, and will effectively promote the release and sharing of China's independent remote sensing datasets and satellite products internationally. The international promotion of the SatCO2 platform will also help expand international cooperation,s which is consistent with the theme of this conference "Promoting International Cooperation in Ocean Color Science and Applications".

The SatCO2 platform is an online analysis software based on remote sensing data, three-dimensional sphere visualizations, multi-source data processing and applications. It has overcome the cloud storage and integrated management technology of massive multi-source data. With its high-performance parallel online analysis technology, it solves the problem of integrated analysis of remote sensing data, meets users' needs for rapid response, and provides a spatio-temporal data analysis experience based on the virtual earth. On this platform, users can browse and analyze more than 50 products such as global sea surface temperature, chlorophyll concentration, and transparency in the past 20 years, and conduct analysis on carbon dioxide flux, red tide identification, coastal water quality, etc. Detailed information can be found on the website: www.SatCO2.com.
