SatCO2 is a freely distributed software for multidisciplinary researchers, which can meet the needs of multi-source data processing, application analysis, and 3D visualization based on satellite remote sensing data. The goal of SatCO2 is to promote the distribution and multidisciplinary application of marine satellite remote sensing data.
SatCO2 was developed by the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics (SOED) of the Second Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Resources and Environmental Information System. Online data services are provided by the Remote Sensing Data Sharing Center of SOED.
The main features of SatCO2 include: 1) online access of remote sensing datasets; 2) 3D visualization and scientific calculation; 3) user-defined remote sensing algorithms and new product generation; 4) interactive analysis and accuracy verification of satellite, in-situ, and model-simulated data; 5) assessment and evaluation of air-sea CO2 flux; and, 6) extensible thematic application modules (e.g., HAB detection and water quality classification).
