1. SeaWIFS
It is the product of the absorption coefficient of the colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) at 355nm retrieved by SeaWiFS.
Unit: m-1
Resolution:  9km
Duration: 1997-2010
Source: The original data of the monthly remote sensing reflectance retrieved by SeaWiFS were provided by NASA
Version: 2018
Dataset Name:
Processing:
Based on the spectral remote sensing reflectance, the total absorption coefficient of the CDOM and detritus, and the particular backscattering coefficient were retrieved using the semi-analytic algorithm developed by Carder et al. (1998). Then, the semi-analytic remote sensing algorithm of CDOM developed by Bai et al. (2008; 2013) was adopted to derive the absorption coefficients of the CDOM and detritus separately from the total absorption coefficient.
Known Issues:
Although the semi-analytic algorithm has the capacity of global applicable, some of the parameters in the algorithm should be estimated empirically which will cause uncertainty in some of regions, especially in the coastal waters.
